They're just passing through on their way up to their breeding locations. I've seen them here only during the spring migration. This one was a way off the coast.

Didn't know you got these....but I suppose they have to pass by you on their way here. They breed here in the thousands.....we even have a bird sanctuary (Cape St. Mary's) where they all breed on a huge rock in the ocean and of the sides of the cliffs.
