Challenge: Close Your Eyes (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Olympus PEN E-P2
Lens: Olympus 17mm f/2.8 M.Zuiko Digital
Location: Washington, DC
Date: Mar 25, 2012
Aperture: 8
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/250 sec
Galleries: Black and White, Street
Date Uploaded: Mar 29, 2012

For me this challenge was about catching images that are not staged or contrived. By closing your eyes you catch a natural moment. Motion blur, soft focus, grain, and other technics are fine but not required. I just set my camera to auto mode, found something interesting, closed my eyes, and clicked a few shots. This process was repeated as I walked around the city. Out of 100 tries 3 or 4 were pretty decent shots. It was a tough decision but I chose this one based on the unusual POV and composition. Because advanced editing is allowed I tried to get the most out of my shot. I think this would have been a more interesting challenge with no editing and straight from the camera. Maybe next time.

I was making changes at the last minute and entered the wrong file. For some reason there is a little color in this image.

This was in my top three. Congrats on another blue hand. I have to say that I have been admiring much of your work recently, and the more I study it the more I come to envy your eye.

Nice shot. Love that we can't see the upper body... adds a mystery to this!
