Model: Bonne Chance
MUA: Elizabeth Dahl

I have been SO busy I have not shot anything for DPC in weeks. But today I had a shoot with this lovely young lady who came down from San Francisco just to shoot with me. She had a lifelong dream to have a formal portrait done someday, and she saw one of my images somewhere and knew I was the photographer for her and the time was now. She will be turning 30 in a few days. My friend Sugano recommended Elizabeth for the hair and make-up. It was a blessed shoot.

Bonne wanted to be photographed with/in her great-great-great-grandmother's Native American rug. We did numerous set-ups with her wrapped in the rug. She also brought her entire crystals collection, as well as all her shells, some calla lilies, and this crazy, wonderful mink jacket. After the rug images, we played a bit with this outfit and the shells. Then I was inspired to get up on a stepladder to get this perspective. It wasn't until editing that I realized this might work for this challenge.

I adore the image and have entered it even though I know it will probably not do too well because it's not so much about the "collection" as it is about something else. I'll let you decide what that is.

Wow I love the back story. So wonderful that you were able to get a shot of her with things she treasured. Beautiful capture!

This could have been slyly appealing with a smile.

So you collect fur covered women :)

While technically meeting the challenge, I think perhaps you missed the spirit of it. As far as the photo goes, nicely lit and good use of an interesting angle of view.

This is an interesting set up. but I don't get why she's wearing fur? the lighting is casting a dark shadow under one eye... making it appear like she has a black eye or a bag under her eye.
There's nice detail, and the message is conveyed...
overall, well done

Lovely soft yet focused points! The thumbnail drew me to open this one first, wasn't disapointed! Love the fur vest, jut enought against the sharp shells... BTY say your title... 3 times fast!!!

I feel I should know the photgrapher, but can't quite get my finger on it... If it pops I'll be back to say you didn't fool me! LOL

Does she sell sea shells? ...down by the sea shore? ...I'll take a dozen. :)
Nice job, but the lighting is a little wonky on the woman. Still an 8. :)
