 We have had some very strange weather this winter. It has been unusually warm, and not much snow. I don't know if the weather has anything to do with it but there is an enormous ice heave all around our local lake. This shot was taken on Sir Winston Churchill Island which is a beautiful summertime camping spot for many. The ice was cracking and groaning while I was shooting, it was a very surreal experience to say the least. I was going for some drama with this shot, because that is what I was feeling as I stood there. Somebody also told me recently that a male cougar had been spotted recently on the island, I don't know if that is true or not but having that thought in the back of my mind was pretty frightening too, and I was quite happy when I finally crawled back int my Jeep!
