[Mar. 6th, 2012 01:54:56 AM]

Approximately 15 minutes before this shot, the glows at the skies sunset were at its peak. I was more to the right and the sun glowing directly behind the tree. But I was soaked while on focusing by the bouncing waves. Thought of calling it a day but the glows keep its shine telling I should go for it.

This shot was my 2nd attempt; the partial stone at the lower right corner was actually about 10ft height. I was hiding behind it and I can felt the shakes with every hit. I got to push my fibre tripod as deep as possible in sandy floor against water turbulence for 2 minutes timer setting. I used 4 filters for this shot; a Hoya ND400, CPL, Chokin ND8 gradual (handheld) and black card (my hat). If the light suddenly gets weak, I can remove ND8 Grad without shaking the lens and the black card was use to block the upper 3rd in motion timing to compensate my metering of foreground. It was my luck to get one with quite a good exposure. Job will be easier now for PP which I lower it by 2 stop, WB adjustment, dodge and burn and sharpening. Thanks everyone for your comments, critiques and vote. Regards, Alex.

Edited: I'm so sorry that this image is out from my poor undestanding of meaning. During google seach "stepping stone ephemisms" I thought it was, my bad. My sincere apologies and I'm so honoured being given a chance from everyone of you giving me a good vote. Thanks all for your comments and vote.

Seems voters really love when the sea is turned into mist.

Congratulations on the red. I love the scene but didn't think it was a euphemism. On those grounds I initially scored you fairly low. But it kept calling me to bump it up, and I did so 2 or 3 times. I ended up giving you an 8.

WD Alex, you're starting to rack 'em up! That Tokina is a super lens in the right hands.

Congrats on the ribbon. Lovely image. Is it a euphemism? No. But the voters didn't care, so neither do I :-)

Best photograph in the challenge, yet I'm not quite understanding how this is a euphemism? (going on this definition - "A euphemism is the substitution of a mild, inoffensive, relatively uncontroversial phrase, for a frank expression that might offend or otherwise suggest something unpleasant to the audience". So I'm a bit torn on how to mark this...

Oh - I like this one. Great image - great title and the image matches perfectly. Definitely a top ten image and certainly top five if I were to guess. Worthy of consideration for winner. I can't say enough positive things. Well done.

Gorgeous shot. I'm always a fan of landscapes, and the mist/fog in this one is wonderful. The colors of the sunset (or sunrise?) are beautiful. The darkness contrasts perfectly. Love it!
