 @ Kasaba - No filter, just shot straight into sun at 7am. The Nikon auto exposure took over and gave the effect, which for once was my intention. Just a crop and one lens flare and numerous sensor spots removed, I used the colour debanding method from Judi to get rid of most of the debanding but not all.

This is lovely. Did you use a filter or something? The sun seems to be quite high in the sky already, but the sky still has that lovely ink-blue colour.
