Thanks to everyone that took the time to vote and leave a comment. And a HUGE thanks to Don for selecting this the Posthumous blue, it's definitely and honor.

I took a zoo day since I don't really have many animals where I live, (except for an indoor kitty that hides 23 and 1/2 hours a day...appropriately named Hidey.) I got a lot of animal shots; zebras, flamingos, tortoises, chimps, lizards, etc., but this one jumped out at me, (the shot, not the giraffe itself..hehe.)

I agree that the background is a bit distracting and should have tried to fix it in post. I don't think it would have changed the score much though.

I think the background bokeh, as inverse giraffe spots, adds greatly to this. I would like to see them accentuated even more. Congratulations on a well-deserved Blue!

Very nice lines, love the tones on the giraffe. The bits in the back are a bit distracting, but the giraffe is great.

I like the composition and detail in the giraffe. However, the background is a bit funky and distracting.
