Can someone tell me which finger/fingers are used to play the blue and orange keys?
I am good with the first 3 keys, but I am not sure if I am supposed to use my pinky for the blue or slide down the fret using the ring finger to hit it. Also, I have short fingers so I will probably not be able to ever get to expert level. But I do want to improve as much as I can.
One more thing. When playing the blue key and say another key, do I move off base and slide or reach for it? I get confused when I move from the standard 123 position.

I use my pinky...but my one step-son slides his hands up and down using the three fingers and I think the very last one with his pinky...and he is FAST! I can do medium...but forget hard and extra hard...he has almost all the extra hard ones done.
LOL..this cracked me up when I saw the title! You're a mom after my own heart!! It's great fun with the kids isn't it?!? We got it at Christmas time and have had a ball with it!

Okay, I went to the Guitar Hero website forums and posted my question without telling them my age. They all said I would have to grow into the game (guess they thought I was a kid).
Anyhoo. Its the chords that I am struggling with. I can hit the high blue notes with my pinky, but if they want blue and another color...FORGET IT.
Oh well, I can still get through the medium levels, but only with 3 stars so far.

My brother in law just beat both Guitar Hero 1 and 2 on expert. I keep telling him if he would just spend that much time playing the real guitar he would be a real guitar hero, but he likes the game better.
He bought it for me for my birthday. I beat medium pretty easily, but I have no patience for Hard. I play real guitar and it is much easier to play the songs for real for me...lol

| the best thing to do is to shift your fingers down and use your pinky on the orange, and use your index finger to switch between the red and green. it takes awhile to adjust, but that's the best way (for expert mode, at least) i think |

I just came across a neat little fact about YYZ by Rush.
When the song starts it plays the notes: C F# C C C F# C C C C F# F#
If you change the Cs to 'dots' and the 'F#'s to 'dashes' it makes it:
-.-- -.-- --..
which is morse code for YYZ.
Now, YYZ is the airport code for the Toronto Airport, and the band Rush is from Toronto.
How cool is that?

Dude....I just whooped Freebird in Medium mode. What a riot.
I really don't see how levels hard and expert are possible for the human brain/hand thing though. Probably need to be younger than 42!! |
