My shot for the glass challenge is doing horrible. (which doesn't suprise me) The shot was a total catastrophe. I put vellum paper over the light to take down some glare and then i put a colored piece of plastic over top of the vellum. Bad Idea. Melted the plastic. That was incident #1. Water then spilled on my poster board causing the ink to fade away so now i have 2 white splotches. Thats incident #2. Then my sloppy editing led to me noticing things that didn't appear on my CRT monitor but did appear on my laptop LCD monitor. This challenge was a catastrophe for me.

| Hey just so long as these "incidents" don't keep progressing into something bigger with each challenge :p Could be worse I guess, you could have set something on fire, broke the glass in the process and cut yourself. |

| I actually broke my subject during the challenge... which gave me the idea of photographing broken glass... but that is not my final entry. :) |

The voting is still ongoing in the glass challenge, so is it proper to discuss a current submission in light of this fact? It may affect your voting status even further or perhaps lead to a DQ, which would be an even greater catastrophe, don't you think?

Since no-one above has said anything that reveals which entry might be theirs, I can't imagine that votes will be swayed/ DQs involved.
Just my tuppence.

don't feel bad. i agonized so hard over which submission to put in that i lost all objectivity and put in the worst one - obvious in hindsite. my score is in the high 4's :P.

Well seems like everybody is not happy campers with the glass challange..I too am in th 4's...everyone keeps saying mine is out of focus, but the glass it's self was not clear..thats the way it looks in person..oh well, I am still having fun...

| Mine looks good but I have received a few comments about it being out of focus near the bottom of the glass, wasn't out of focus its the glass fogging up from the coldness of the liquid in it. I didn't notice the problem till after the voting started or I would have cropped it differently. Oh this has been a long week with the glass challenge. |

| I also had a glass challenge disaster! I decided to try to set wine glasses in a pyramid and used a black poster board as background. The poster board buckled forward, knocked over the glasses and three came shattering down on my stone floor. Oops! I gave it up and shot something outdoors. |

As far as I know, talking about even a very specific photo during voting is NOT a valid reason for DQ. It is NOT a rule not to discuss photos in the forums during voting. However, it IS highly looked down upon, and against site "etiquette".

That sucks. But I guess thats part of the fun of photography.

Wow,I feel much better about my glass image after hearing what y'all went through. Hardest work I ever did and it's not doing too good. Mid 4's. I also think that discussing a photo during the voting when it's not fairing well,isn't gonna make much of a difference unfortuately.
