If anyone's interested, this seems like a great deal. I don't have any experience with it, but not too many $30 tripods can support 11lbs!

Somehow I don't think a Sunpak tripod was ever $180. But it does sound like a steal at $30.

I think Woot had it the other day for about $25. Looks fairly sturdy for a Sunpak, though I think it does have a plastic head.

Looks like Woot had the super-cheap 5200D model (3.3lb load capacity) and a Gorillapod wannabe. Nothing like this that I can find.

Buyer beware...you get what you pay for! Instead of buying this because of the weight capacity, think about how long it will last? Will the cheap plastic parts break off like so many other tripods in this price category? Do the legs extend easily, or do you have to not-so-subtly coerce them each time.

Having said that...this could work as a cheap light stand for a flash.

I bought a $20 Soligor tripod once that was regularly $60. I spent $20 too much for it. It functions as a light stand for me now...barely. Caveat emptor

I found This about that tripod. Doesn't sound too bad to me for the $$.

I wonder if the quick release plate is plastic? I don't know if I'd trust this tripod with my expensive gear on top of it. What if the plate cracked while the tripod is set up on the edge of a windy bluff, cliff, at the beach (ever had a camera fall into the sand? It's not pretty), or even on your concrete driveway?

I would never ever ever trust a plastic quick release plate. For that matter, I'd never ever ever trust a quick release plate without a foolproof safety lock. LONG LIVE MANFROTTO AND ARCA-SWISS!

Ditto! Long live the Manfrotto 488 RC2 ball head and the Manfrotto 055-XPRO-B tripod which features a horizontal center column feature, which allows the center column to flip quickly and easily from vertical to horizontal, and also allows the tripod to reach extremely low positions .

One of my old tripods was a Slik model with plastic release plate. It was actually a very good tripod, with the exception of the pan handle that eventually broke off after years of heavy use (I've met DPCers with the same model and same broken handle). The release plate was never an issue. This Sunpak appears to be similar (maybe slightly better, but with the same handle weakness). It's $70 at B&H with a four star rating. I certainly wouldn't give up my Manfrotto for it, but hey... for $30 it's a good deal for someone on a budget.
