What is going on here? ''In the Tvilight'' (love that title) wins with a 7.6712 average? ''Bad Hair Day'' came in second with an even 7.000? Third has a score of 6.771...

I awarded these pics from 8 to 10. That means somebody is dragging down the score.

Something funny is going on. A winning pic should have an 8.5 average or better.

That's the way it always seems to end up. Pictures that met the challenge shouldn't come out with an average of 4.1 either.

I reserve ones for pics that don't qualify (IMO) and 2-10 are for how well the challenge was executed. A two would have to be a REALLY bad photograph, but I do give them occasionally. Yours wasn't one of them shortredneck.

Thanks. I wasn't going for a win anyway. I wanted to get some laughs and judging from some of the comments, I achieved that. I get the feeling from some of the low scores I got that either some people are taking this whole thing way too seriously or they didn't get the joke.

I thought the winner's photos were extremely good myself. I scored 2 of the 3 that placed with a 10 vote. It still amazes me that spectacualr pictures can't seem to get even an average of 8 on this site.

i think it comes down to taste here. I gave in the Twilight a 6. and the 2nd and 3rd place pics got 7's from me.

However, #5 and #28 both got 10's ....

So what's left to say? There's always going to be variation. You can't please all of the people all of the time : )

shortredneck: i thought your picture was hilarious. And you're right about some people being to serious. If that's what they want, so be it. I for one have found that I can be serious for a certain amount of time, then I do something really strange (like my City Life submission).

general forum reader: I have a question, though. Please understand that I am not saying my "shadows" shot didn't get what it deserved, BUT I had a lot of low scores, and I have no idea why. Okay, maybe the "golf sucks" comment summed it up, but I thought I met the challenge, so what in my picture needed to be fixed?

Part of the reason is that the admins forgot to run the script that cleans out the bogus voting this week. I would still like to see that run so we can compare apples to apples.
