I know it's a little ways off...but I hear the weather in KC at the beginning of June is usually fine. Anyone interested in a get together?

I'll be staying near the convention center (yes, I'm free-riding on another of my Hubby's conferences). We'll arrive Friday June 1 and leave the next Thursday. I'll be free much of the time to wander about with my camera. Hoping to meet some "local" DPC'rs. :-)

Over-ripe bananas will do just fine...if you bake them into bread. :)

Oh, and for the weekend crowd.

Heh, depend on how fast you drive ;)

It takes us about 11-12, but that's with three small children.

Okay, it's getting down to the wire now ;)

I won't really be available on Saturday, but I have off Sunday-Tuesday. If there were enough people willing to do the whole GTG enchilada, I would take a vacation day Saturday.

Erin is a volunteer photog for the annual Salvation Army annual Motorcycle Rally, so she's going to be out most of saturday anyhow, which is I imagine when most people would want to do the GTG.

Places to go: I assume you're at the downtown convention center? If you're in the Overland park Sheraton one, then you'll have to drive.

Crown Center/Union Station/Liberty Memorial: Lots of goodies, and the Westin Hotel lobby has a huge fountain/waterfall that I really like.

The Plaza: search google for some better pics. Mostly shopping but lots of candid stuff and LOTS of fountains.

Nelson Atkins Museum of Art: the grounds are beautiful and there is some good candid stuff there, but you can see it for a diversion while hubby is convening.

River Market: mostly outdoor market and farmers market on saturday and sunday mornings. There's a few bars and restaurants there also.

Westport: bars/clubs if you're into that

18th/Vine - jazz museum and the Blue Room.

Hi, just got wind of this (Thanks Steve). Kind of a busy weekend for me and the family, but if there's something going on in the evenings, I have a better chance to get out.

Me and the wife... puckin, will be available on the Sunday, if we did something we could bring the kids along on... Like maybe Powell Gardens

Powell Gardens

Though that full moon Friday looks pretty cool.

just remember it's $8/adult, $3/child to get in. But yeah, that would be awesome. I'm getting tired of the Plaza (okay, I never really get tired of the plaza)

kadi will be here most of the week, no reason that we have to keep it to one day ;)

Well, I'm best available in the evenings. My husband's schedule changes a bit, but is flexible. Hope I can meet up with everyone! Sounds like a lot of fun!
