Thank you.

This particular one was a rescue. We got her when she was 7, abondoned, left at a shelter, had spent several months kenneled and almost died of heartworms.

She is my 3rd Irish and very appreciative of her new home.

Awww! He's adorable! But we are full now :( BUT, we are still going to do another project with mixed breeds. Is he mixed or pure bred? Let me know and I'll keep your name handy for that one.

Thoughts on this?

I like the image. Not sure it captures the Great Dane breed.

What about these, B&W or color?

My family is into dogs on a professional level. My brother-in-law won most of the major shows in the USA last year including The Westminster Kennel Club in NYC with a Kerry Blue Terrier named Mick.

Mick wins Westminster Kennel Club

My other brother-in-law and sister-in-law are both top Canadian and American dog show judges and breaders of world-class English Setters.

Fantail English Setters

We have a top Golden Retriever and a retired English Setter show dog.

Eirene's Winston Churchill (called Churchill)

Fantail's Poetic Justice (called PJ or just PIG)

One of Fantail's puppies

Me and the Boys

Four Generations of Fantail Champion English Setters

Reply to Morgan:

Just wanted to say that I watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog show faithfully every year (even though my own dog is a mixed breed) - I remember rooting for the Kerry Blue terrier to win - thank your brother-in-law for such an exciting show with a wonderful dog that showed beautifully - what an accomplishment! :)

I prefer the top one the most but I would like to see more of the body, the head is destinct but the body adds the power to the shot for me.

Hey! Bet you all thought I forgot about you, didn't you? I haven't, still be busy around here though. But the project is still on. Please send your pictures to me at this address and I will upload them to a folder on my PBase account for other's to look at, offer suggestions or just say, "WOW!"

I have been a lot busier than I expected with new clients in the New Year so I'm going to extend the date to offer some submission to March 1, 2005, hope that's okay with everyone. Thanks again for being a part of this project!

Hey there Deannda :) Sounds like your new yr has started well, that's great!!

For the project are you wanting the studio portrait type of shot, or can the dogs be out in the field?

Took this of Chase, the KC Spaniel up in amongst the trees. Haven't done much editing on it as yet. A possible for the project?

Fila is not a Bull Mastiff. A Bull Mastiff is a breed unto itself as is the Fila. The Fila is in the mastiff family, but years back during the developement of the breed bulldog and hound was mixed in to produce a dog that could survive hunting in the South American jungles for jaguar and wild boar. They have been imported into the US where they are used as pets or as show dogs. Some people in this part of the country still use them to hunt wild boar.

Hey guys, I need some help. I feel like an idiot, but "oh well!"

I thought that my shots were 300dpi right out of the camera, but NO, I see that they are 180dpi JPEG and 240 dpi RAW. So the question, then, is...how do I make them 300dpi for the project?

I understand the resampling up thing with SIZE, but how do I do it for DPI? Do I just change the 180 to 300? Is it that simple? Do I check or uncheck resample?

Any help on this appreciated. I have some shots that I want to post or send to Deannda so you peeps can decide which one (if any) to use, but need to make them 300dpi.

Thanks All!

I'd like to be included when you do the mixed breed project.
02/11/2005 04:00:39 PM · #95
lhall,
Are you working in Photoshop? If so go to image-image size, uncheck the resample box and change the resolution to 300, you'll see that this changes the dimensions of the photo but doesn not resample or upsize it.

Hope its not too late to get my pic in...I shot you and email. I'll try and get a small pic here too if ya want.

Thanks

Yes, PS CS, but I didn't know if it was just that simple. Seemed almost too simple! Thanks so much Paige.

OK, thanks to Paige, I think I figured out the dpi thing.

Which one of these (if any!) would y'all like to use for the Miniature Pinscher? And NO, it won't hurt my feelings if you send me back to square one!
