Is there such a thing as Dust Repellent spray or literally anything that keeps fine dust of monitor?

I am literally wiping this thing down about 15 times in 5 hours. That and I keep trying to clone the damn specs away thinking git is on my pics lol

Clearly I have no (useful) answer ... maybe run a wire from the screen or from to ground to discharge static? Maybe locate one of those air ionizers nearby?

I agree that cloning out dust (or coffee spatters) using Photoshop is rather ineffectual ...

Someone should make one lol

It has to do with the no humidity/dry air and living in the desert.

It is a pain Gen! =)

Unfortunately, there is not. You just have to frequently wipe them down with electronic alcohol wipes.

Wish I had a buck for every try at cloning it off. Oy.

Ditto. And the worse my eyes get the less I'm able to distinguish between real dust and virtual dust...

LOl seems we all have the same problem. I think I am 'seeing' it more as it is a much bigger screen and brighter.

I am sooooo thrilled I held off on commenting on the first 6 photos in the challenge as I kept looking at them and was like, " There is a serious cleaning problem with some of your cameras" lol

A 1st world problem but a worldwide problem, someone is gonna figure it out and make a fortune!!!

try this... for regular cleaning use a duster, one of the poofy wands that attracts dust. Only wet clean when you have stuck-on stuff. This should be rarely. The "feather duster" method is all we use for cleaning our OLED TV screen, and it works very well. Wet cleaning almost never happens.

1) Keep the windows closed?
2) A shot of compressed air?
3) The feather duster approach works but will add a slight static charge to the screen. Which attracts more dust.

As for 1, most of the dust (at least where I live) comes from the HVAC ducting. The shot of compressed air strikes me as wasteful, plus it always blows around loose stuff in the vicinity of my monitor. I've settled on keeping a very good, neatly-folded microfiber cloth handy and using that periodically, then shaking it out and refolding it.

LOL!!!!!!!!!

I will tell you a dirty secret- my old computer- the one I just replaced, I used to get the leaf blower and clean it out of dust. Worked like a charm and Kudo's to Dell, lasted my idiotic mid/older life crisis!!

Yep!
The micro-fiber based dusters, whether a wand or a cloth, are the best bet, they get the most dust and hold on to it. A cloth folded multiple times and dragged gently across the surface works a charm.

Never mind the dusty screen issues: we want to hear more about this :-) Did you buy an XKE or something?

I also stick my lens covers/camera bag in the dishwasher =\ Hub caps from my MGB.............the list just goes on...just dumb brain, that actually has not ruined any of these things.

<~~~ come back for more life hacks from me LOLOLOLOL
