I just quickly went through a some of the submissions and kept saying WOW!There are some fantastic shots in this one. Way to go!

That was also my first impression.
After a few challenges that I (read I) found realy boring, this one I realy like...
I'm glad to vote on all of them and commenting (later this week) as many as possible.

Congrats everybody!

I know, there is some tough competition as always. I might be lucky if i get some where near the mid point on this one

I agree, I'm kinda glad I didn't enter the challenge.

Yipes! I am so totally, hopelessly outgunned on this one. It looks like the top 80 shots in this challenge will be better, on average, than the Master's Free Study. My favorites list is about to get longer. Well done everyone!

Wow! was my reaction as well... over and over again.

lotz of wows - but a few crap ones in there az well :p
In Advance - congradulations to the ribbon winner's - the vast majority of great photos will be hard to pick the top three but im sure we will find new favourites for our collection

I see another median score coming. : ) Some great shots in there.

lots of great stuff, congrats to everyone especially the ribbon winners

Lost of entries, lots of good entries, few bad entries. Well done to all!
I must have missed the air show though...why so many airplane pics? Fall leaves (and cats/flowers/insects) I expected, but planes?

After participating here for nearly a year, i have (finally) become a member, so this is my first free study entry...no planning, just picked a shot from the past month. So far so good...but it iw way early yet!

Good luck to all!

I thought my entry was "good." Apparently the voters think otherwise. 18 votes averaging 4.666, 0 comments.
11/01/2004 03:26:56 AM · #14
Hmmm, my lowest vote until now was a 5, and that was just on 1 photo.
Ive voted on 40% so far...

Unbelieveably high standard for this challenge. Lot of 6 +'s in my opinion, excellent and varied work.

11/01/2004 09:02:51 AM · #16
well...apparently mine sucks. But then, I don't know why I thought this challenge would be any different then any other.

I don't know why I even care anymore.

I'll agree. Probably a lot of votes will change at the last minute this time as people go back and try to really decide who gets the top 10 spots.

I don't have to worry about that. I started out with a 6.7 average and in a short time and a few votes later have plummeted to 5.8

same for me, been in steady decline all day

c'est la vie

I have to agree, lots of very good shots. I am enjoying voting on this challenge a lot. Wish I'd chosen my 2nd choice now. Lol!

Well...I started out at a 7.0, and am now balanced precariously between a 4.9 and a 5.1....so to say I'm disapoited is putting it lightly.

Others can shrug, but there's a print at stake in your case. It might not have been a such good idea to motivate Artyste... ;-)

no worries - there are 2 good months left yet :)

With two ribbons on the front page, maybe you SHOULD start worrying. Artyste is turning up the heat, and you seem to be getting... Colda. ;-)

I'm happy with my scores so far, hovering around 5.6 on a subject I feel I'm weak in. Would probably be higher - I just noticed that I didn't submit my true final image, but the one in my workflow before I tweaked Levels and Saturation. What a dummy!
11/01/2004 11:39:06 AM · #25
funny enough mine started off as normal around a 4.3 and has been going up steadily and sits at 5.2 right now, but i wont say anymore and call fate in to lend a hand.. whatever i get i am just happy to be a part of a great community.
