In my search for a Nikon D300 I stumbled upon this site:

www.dailydealdigital.com

Has anyone every bought anything from them?

I'm also curious about info at the Adorama web site. They show two different manufacturer's part numbers for the D300...

25432 and 25432B

Is the "B" designation significant? If so, what does it mean? I seem to recal people talking about "U.S. versions" in their ebay listings.

Thanks in advance for any input you might have.

Daily Deal Digital on resellerratings.com

Current score 2.71 out of 10. Comments say scam, scam and more scam.

I would avoid. :P

Quick google found 25432B is the factory refurb part #.

Is a refurb a bad idea?

Well, that's gotta be a decision on your own behalf, honestly. Some people don't mind, some do. Some won't buy used, some will. It's a personal call. I've read explanations that state that most refurbs are just taken out of the box by somebody and exchanged for whatever reason, and not really used much. Test driven per se. And they're all refurbed by the manufacturer, so all repairs should be good and quality, if it was needed. I personally don't see a problem with trusting the manufacturer to repair something and trust it... if you don't trust that, how can you trust the company, really? I'm not sure what the warranties are, having never bought a refurb Nikon. I've bought other refurb products- my webcam, my girlfriend's zune, I think some other stuff. The 1st Zune had an issue with a button acting weird, so we returned it for another refurb and it's been perfect. My webcam has been too.
But, like I said, there will be some who will swear against it.
You may have to weigh how much of a cost savings there really is... sometimes its very little (like I think refurb sb900's are only like $30 cheaper). But then... I also think of it like this... there is always a failure rate for brand new products out of the box. It's just inevitable. If you get something that you know has been gone over by the company, you'd think it's actually MORE assured of quality.

Also, I didn't even notice I yanko'd cdrice. Haha, sorry about that...

Tee hee -- no problem -- it's happened a couple of times this week (different people); I figured people are just ignoring my ramblings. ;)

I actually like and agree with this mentality. I've purchased quite a few refurbed electronics over the years, and I've had much *less* problems (none, in fact) with the reburb units than I've had with new units. I actually didn't even think to look at refurb camera bodies until this very thread came up (didn't know Nikon released them) -- I have a new money-saving-method for my next body purchase, methinks. :P [ begins searching for refurb'ed D700s....... ]
