Things i love about my mark ii already
--the battery life lasts about 5-6x longer and it comes with an adapter to plug camera into wall.
--it's fast
--it is heavy and sounds like a camera
--it's fast
--the amount of features and options seems limitless
--it's fast
--has spot metering and multi metering
--it's fast
--I have caught wildlife stuff I KNOW I would not have captured otherwise
things i don't like so far--
the firewire download time is SO much faster
--it is awkward to delete files in camera to many steps, I find the other menu features not directly accessible, easier in rebel
--there is A LOT of features to figure out, this really is not a camera for someone who is dumb or not professionally minded, wanting to take a lot of time to figure out.
--they charge a lot for lens' that are quiet but boy does the camera make a lot of noise
--even though it is fast not every shot turns out sharp (this is hard one for me I expected every bird in flight shot i took to be perfect due to the speed, of course there are many other factors to consider in getting a sharp shot, which my zeal for fastness made me neglect to think on, this I think in time I will get better at
--i will be paying for it for the next year
My summary is
that the rebel, 10d and mark ii take very similar picture quality and right out of camera rebel may be better, esp for someone like me who hates to do stuff in PS. The camera really is probably much more than most people need to get 95% of shots. But for folks who want fast boy is it nice.
These are just a few thoughts after only a week of use obviously the less technical review : )
now i will go read the tech one.
one more thing it eats up memory sticks like crazy due to the speed, i often end up with 3-4 shots of same thing because shutter button is so sensitive (there is way to limit this but I prefer to have that option on most time)
