I'm beginning to look at other cameras and have been checking out our local online sites. Was wondering if one of you could check out this site for me.....it's a nz camera warehouse, prices seem unbelievably low, info on the cameras is sketchey, I'm not sure of the model numbers...if anyone has the time would really appreciate some advice please

The page you were looking at was the Film cameras category.
The EOS 300N is a film camera and that price is normal.

I have found the following site has been a most convenient way to shop for one:

thanks for that Ashok....I'm in New Zealand so shipping from o/seas makes that pretty much unaffordable.....but - that site gives me a better idea of comparable prices, brands etc.

Hi-ho,

In NZ etown.co.nz seems to have the best deal on the 300D if that's what youre interested in. They've got a shop in Auckland (Queen st Mall?) so if you're local you can pop in and take a look. ($1849 inc GST for the kit with lens)

Although I think he's a grey importer you may want to check on warrnty etc.

The reason I believe he's a grey importer is that I seem to remember reading somewhere that the 300d's he was bringing in had the USM lens on them, the same as sold in Japan, whereas the Kiwi market one has a non-USM lens.

I was looking at one ealier in the year, but got a very good deal on the G5, and decided I'd hang on and save for a 10d.

thanks for that Chris ....interesting site. When they advertise a camera body only is that with no lens at all, or just the standard lens the camera comes with?

Another 'blonde moment' Sue? 'Camera body only' means just that - no lens ;) If you are thinking of going into the dSLR market then I don't think you will go wrong with the Rebel, one thing to remember though (as I found out) you may have cured your desire for an excellent cam but then your desire turns to lenses and eventually the dreaded 'L desease'. Believe me, its worse than MTS!
