Do we get a Godzilla movie from you Art? Or is it going to be a "Woody" Allen film?

Put it this way - based on my performance lately, I can promise you a reject.

Sometimes people use an image as a "texture" rather than as an actual compositional element. These can often be (but are not limited to) things like cloth, sand, wood chips, etc.; there is a "library" gallery of images here which are available for you to download and use as textures. This gallery has examples of photos which use textures.

Images which are used strictly as textures and not as "compositional elements" can be taken outside the challenge dates, i.e. from your archives.

Actually this gallery is the one where the images from the textures library are used more so than the textures gallery.

Jeez, that sounds ominous.. :)

Just an FYI to everyone, it was a very nice PM, nothing at all what you would expect from the comment above :)

Something like this? (It's a balloon challenge outtake)

I think this is just a movie poster challenge. The word "rejected" is meaningless, because any excellent poster could be rejected, just like there are always someone giving low score to a blue ribbon photo.

I think I'll be interpreting it as a "Rejected Movie" Poster... Anyone want to take issue with this? :)

Do we have a third for this party?

ETA:
I do want to hear just exactly how you envision a poster that would obviously be rejected, but will score well with DPC voters? My honest guess is that you'll be better off doing a Rejected Movie Poster.. Just think of of the situational comedy you can throw into this!

I think you could get away with this.. You'd just need a damn good title to relate it to the challenge :)

I think that will be a BIG factor in this challenge. Clearly the image comes first, but I suspect that a weak title will kill a strong entry in this one.

I'd say that it can account for a loss of greater than 1 point in the case of a really BAD title.

Take this image for example:

The commenters told me how much they hated my image because of the title..

Like I just said in another thread.... "Photography is subjective..." There is no reason why you should believe the comments in forums or on pics are any different.

If YOU think it rocks, then it rocks... I think my photo rocks that's hangin in my living room.... I am sure that DPC would give it a 4.2, but I like it.....

Don't worry about a virtual ribbon. This site's spirit is/should be about bettering the artist, not about constraining the artist...

Don't stress it really. My photos have improved GREATLY because of the POSITIVE comments that I have gotten...

To be perfectly honest, I have taken exactly 3234 pictures in total in my life.

I have grown exponentially due to the positives comments, not the negs...

Post a pic you think rocks, title how you feel it needs to be titled....

I have to wonder if it's a bad thing that I've doubled or tripled that.. This month.

I know I'm on the fast track to buying a new shutter.

As for just doing what you like? That's one thing, and fine and admirable... But the DPL is now on, and my team (YOUNGGUNS RULE~!!!!!!) is counting on me to score well, and I am counting on them to do the same.

What a waste of a theme for an expert editing challenge... :o/

You can't add text to your entry as per rules, but surely you could cut your text out of card, take a photo of the text and then add that to your entry?
