I shot this from the balcony looking down. I blurred and darkened the background. Should I go further? Does the grass just look odd in this picture? |

I didnt really pay attention to the background at all. It's not distracting to me. If you really look then you can see where the blurring hits the edges of the girl, but unless you're looking for it you dont really notice.

what set up did you use (lens, etc.)? DId you blur the background (out of camera)? Get that Nikkor 50mm f1.8 lens for under $100. i love that thing so far. Haven't got to try it out on prortraits, except for chasing around a 2 year old that won't hold still for less than 1/500th of a second. (C: |

It was taken from a balcony with a 200mm zoom. I photoshopped the background to blur and darken as well as remove a length of garden hose that looked like it was protruding from her head. |
