Ok, I'm stumped...
I'm trying to download a file from an online server. The file is a Microsoft Excel file that contains macros. I'm running winblows XP. The file starts to download, but never finishes the last few bytes. Excel files that do not contain a macro download fine.
Its my computer. I have tried this on another and it works fine.
Somewhere, I loaded some security controls that is preventing this, and I just can't figure out what it is. Here is what I have disabled:
Router firewall
Zonealarm firewall
Spybot-SD Resident
Pest Patrol
McAfee security
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Paul |

most security suites will balk at anything that contains macros, if there is a way to rename the file before d/l that might work. |

Renaming didn't work. I can put it into a zip file and it goes ok.
I tried disabling everything I can from the McAfee security suite, but something is still holding it back. |

Still looking into this..I'm thinking it MAY be an IE setting. Though, I don't understand why a 3rd party FTP application wouldn't allow the download as well.... |

I don't know if this maybe part of your problem but you may want to take a look at this document by MS.
