Check out this photo on flikr. Says that Gimp has the "quickly becoming famous" Content Aware.

Wow, just checked it out and it does. Wish I would have known this sooner, it has been out for a number of years now.

| That's pretty cool! GIMP might be a really great program , but it isn't super easy to learn. I'm trying, but the learning curve is HUGE! (I find.) |

I think it is pretty much the same as PS. Some things are different but if you know PS you should be fine in Gimp. Now if you are not use to PS then I could see that. I was looking forward to CS5 only because of Content Aware. Had not used Gimp in a number of years so I loaded it up today and tried out the Content Aware and it works great. All of the plug-ins I use in PS I now have in Aperture. Only thing I go to PS for anymore is the healing brush and clone tool and Gimp has both of those and Content Aware and best part is it is free.
