On other forums I have seen it where you can choose which page to go to for a thread instead of just clicking the link and going automatically to the first page. For example:

Thread: Show your scores (1 2 3...Last Page)

If you click on the little arrow to the right of the thread link, it takes you to the first new post.

Thanks for the info - I never knew that! I just thought it let you know there was a new post since the last time you visited.

Would it be possible to have different forum views? Having the new posts at the top when you are just looking at a thread for the first time is annoying. I know that the "Reverse" button is there. But if I log out, and back in again, that feature is not saved. Perhaps, like with other forums, you could have a "Forum Preferences" panel in the User Profile?

Just a thought

You could always have it display up to 100 posts on one page...

Go to preferences and down near the bottom you can choose to reverse replies.

Forum / Discussion Preferences

Posts Per Page
Min 5. Max 200. Number of replies shown per page when reading a thread.

Hide Signatures
Hide other user's signatures from forum listings.

Reverse Replies
Show replies in order of most-recent first.
Forum Filter
Click to manage the forum filter. With this, you can choose which
sections show up on your home and community pages.
