I need a wide angle prime that I can still use the built in flash with.
If there are any zooms that do that, then ok, but I haven't been able to find any.
Opinions on the Canon range? Do any of the "L" wide-angle primes allow this?

I have the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L and you cannot use the built in flash with it.

Yeah, I really want that lens, but i have no external flash, and I need something dead-easy for family/girlfriend to pick up and shoot.
Also, I would LOVE an L lens, but I don't think they allow a built in flash to work properly...

Does anyone have the EF 24mm f/1.4L USM???

It's a question of size, the lens protrudes way out and the built in flash gets obstructed.

24mm on a 10D is not really a wide angle...and being only 3" long, the built-in flash would have no problems

My point is that a wide-angle on the 10D becomes a standard prime. Really, 28mm turns into a perfect standard lens. (~45mm)
