When you go to your favorite spot, how do you approach it? Do you look for something in specific? Or do you just take as many photos as possible? I've seemed to lose my groove, and just trying to find new ways of getting back into it.

I naturally frame everything in my head, scanning everything for a unique perspective. Most places are drive-bys, as I spot a shot and do a U-Turn.

I take more pictures of a specific scene now that I'm all digital, but nothing beats careful study. Setting up a shot--even for just 10 seconds between each snap should improve anyone out of the groove. Get your eye up there and imagine that viewfinder hanging on your wall.

My favorite sport to watch and photograph is Crawling Baby.

Not dead, just slightly frozen ;)

Yeah I've noticed that when I'm at new shots I look for different views/perspectives. Most of the spots are different because of lighting and time of day. But even then, I try to avoid shooting the same shot twice at different times.

Nah, crawling baby has more photo ops. :)

My favorite spots are places that others tend to photograph. I start with just wandering around and shooting things that catch my interest. Out of those shots I'll get several angles that really interest me. Then I start going back. Different times of day, different times of year. Same place, same shot. Looking for the perfection I see in my minds eye.

When in a real bind, I look at images taken in my favorite places. And remind myself that I can do better.
