Ah, it's nice to see football is such a well-known international sport that footballing celebrities are even famous in the US.

On the other hand, I couldn't name a single famous American gridiron rugby-style football player.

ETA: Apart from Babe Ruth, of course.

I just saw some "Whatever happened to..." show on TV and they mentioned Posh Spice and her soccer playing boyfriend.

With the amount of press he is getting I would be surprised if you didn't know Tim Tebow.

Only in America though I'm sure, JH is Irish according to his profile so unless he actively seeks out American football news I doubt it'll come up. I've certainly no idea who he is (apart from obviously a player in the nfl which is inferred =)).

On a side note though; why are there always people who insist on slagging off sports their country doesn't play? Everyone has their preferences (and exposure) when it comes to sport but I really don't see whats so bad about someone enjoying a sport that's not big in your country, especially if that sport is big in theirs (and even if it's one only a minority of countries play).
