ie any topic who cares but something with expert editing... - specific size requirements perhaps maybe one or two items as a mandatory present feature theme? (like shoe and fruit or something IDK) or shapes to be present (square and circle) ... just a thought

---------------------------------------------------

eta: for the following lets see who wants what - I think personally they would work best as speed challenges (ie: create a photograph using expert editing) or IE: take a photograph straight from the camera no editing except to shrink for web (no other cropping etc) / i figure a little coding will help out- and make it easy for the big-wigs to count the requests... (ie popular demand etc)

EXPERT EDITING = (E)
STRAIGHT FROM CAMERA = (S)
BOTH CHALLENGES (as speed challenges done on separate weeks so we can all participate in both and not have to pick and choose) = (B)

Maybe the next exclusive open challenges could be:

1) straight from the camera
2) expert editing

We're overdue on both.

Shush Art... How am I going to look innocent if you go around fowling up my well laid misdirection scheme like this?

I like the idea of being able to enter both challenges... straight from camera and expert editing- it would be a nice duality to see how we can do in both- what if there was a straight from the camera speed-challenge (only resizing to fit web specs permitted) and a expert editing challenge speed-challenge; ie: put the photographer under some pressure ;) to produce something all wow factor but still allowing it so ppl can enter both--

OK so how many people are interested in a straight from the camera challenge-

and how many people are interested in a expert editing challenge?

lets post with (S) for STRAIGHT FROM CAMERA
and a (E) for EXPERT EDITING

or write (BOTH) if u want on different weeks

----------------------------------------------

(BOTH) < is what i think

Please tell me you're kidding. :P

The Michael Jackson tribute was the last expert. It was fun and had some amazing finalists. :)

Nope not kidding...

I love to do over-the-top edits, but I really want a straight from the camera challenge.. Why? Post makes it easy to get a great shot, sharp etc.. Now using your camera, and only your camera, to get a good end result is IMHO much more difficult (hence a probable lack of super flashy images), but the intrigue of both seeing how good I really am with my camera, and how good the rest of you are, is a serious draw to the (S) challenge..

gah figures i missed the deadline to enter into the 1 time they put an expert editing challenge in- for 1 lack of materials and 2 lack of ability to pull it off w/the challenge title/being about movie poster/etc.. and I'll probably never catch another- i'm not a big 'movie' person these days short of kids flicks and they're all animations -having a 3 year old... if i put a lion in and wrote 'lion king' i'd get like 10thousand dnmc 1's and fall into a pit of self pity -

well at last other ppl were able to enjoy the expert editing.

at least i'll get to see it in voting
