What browser are you using? Have you changed any settings recently?

I assume you mean Internet explorer.

I also assume you mean McAfee Virus Scan? McAfee makes about a dozen or so different software packages so I need you to be specific. Does the reinstall of McAfee whatever coincide with when your problem started?

Check the browser's security settings ... I just was unable to log into one of my regular banking site ... during a browser "update" the security setting for Javascript got changed -- when I changed that back it worked fine.

I'm pretty sure ActiveX has about eight different subsections each requiring "security" settings in the browser prefs.

Well, maybe check these too ... :)

Your quoted text above gives away the problem...

You have been hit with a browser-hijacking program called NTSearch. This software causes popup ads (have you been seeing any on DPC?) and injects links into the pages you are viewing -- this is what is breaking the menus for you.

I would recommend installing and running Spybot - Search and Destroy, a free adware removal tool. Install the software, download the latest definitions, and run a scan.

If you are seeing popup ads on DPChallenge you are definitely infected with spyware/adware. DPChallenge does not and has never had popup ads anywhere on the site.

hey terry the link you put up is not working - i keep getting this message, "Connection to database server not possible!"
06/08/2004 09:00:23 PM · #16
is it spybot.com?

hello
I have been hijacked in the past. cw shredder and spybot take care of 99% of the hijack problems. but some of the bad programs still resided on my computer. Finally a complete system restore fixed my problem. Good luck

It looks like their site is down. You can also try Ad-Aware -- I actually would recommend installing and running both... each catches things the other misses.

Spybot link for download:

//download.com.com/3001-8022-10289035.html

(download will automatically start from this link)

I just ran both. I didn't think I had a problem with spyware, but....
