I'm pretty sure Free Studies are not included.

ETA - Just double-checked (looked at DPL 1 history for the Pirates). Free Studies were not included.

12 - Will additional challenges (Free Studies, Speed Challenges, etc) count?

No, only the normally scheduled Members and Open challenges will be counted towards the team scores each week.

This is from the FAQ... I thought of this one yesterday so I looked it up

I am going to go back and get the right edit but I will probably put it up as my profile pic. :)

Whilst careening the ship for tis faster than breaming (yes, more nautical terms LOL;-) ) I took a gander at the challenge suggestion thread....oh there are some that I hope do not come up in the rounds...

I just hope it is something I can do... I mean there really isn't much to take photos of here on campus so it might be hard for me to come up with something. I will be sure to think creatively though ;)

I am one for the "use what you have" or trying to find simple things to create an image. It need not be a fabulous landscape (gah, we just had that challenge a wee bit so hopefully it does not come up in the que again) but simple things could work well:

but a toy, broken shell and necklace with bokeh effect

ice cream

rocks, flowers, and clouds

could all work well with a bit of imagination and composition.

But bottom line - let's just have some fun mixed in with learning and I believe the result will be some really good pictures - and some more tools in our buckled swashes to improve all our skills;-);-);-)

Argh, waiting for answers on another matter outside of DPC circles....so looking around and seeing our team leader: Captain Carter is rather striking:-) Aye Captain!

O.K. back to work...

I think I am going to learn a lot during the season. I just need to be on my toes is all... If I do this then I will be able to think of things! :)

Poking around looking for rank positions on a ship I drew mostly from this website:
Pirate Crew to create "Rank Pins" to post in our Profiles. According to the site there can be 4-6 gunners. If we use them, Rich gets to designate who is who because he's the Captain....just don't draft me to be First Mate;-) (had enough with this Event Planning that I am working on to be in any 'high leadership' role even though it is just in name for the spirit of the League play:-) )

. . . . .

EXCELLENT! I just got it! I put it in my profile page! :P

Just to let everyone know I am going to be in Iowa for the next few days on a volleyball tournament trip. I took a shot for "out of the ordinary" but because my computer has been down I have yet to be able to put it on my computer edit it and post it to the challenge. I am bringing my computer to Iowa because I have a teammate who is going to let me use his charger when he is not using it so I will be able to do everything needed. :) Thank you again Rich for making these!

Chrystine made them, please thank her. It was her doing that allowed them.

You are welcome:-) And with my new position I can't help but hear Adam Savage in the Mythbusters Pirate special saying "Time to blow stuff up" LOL

I'm excited for this to start....had a few minutes last night before I got some shut eye when the creative muse took hold and from help from my husband (thank you love) I came up with a few lines for a 'sea shanty' song.

Taking it's cue from the first three stanzas of "Hoist the Colors" from Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End:

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the tripods high,
Heave ho,
photographers
never shall we die

Langdon and his men
cast the Muse from her web
and bound her in soft Blues
dpC's be ours
and by the powers
where we will all roam.

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the tripods high,
Heave ho, photographers
never shall we die.

Still fleshing out the last 3 stanzas...have some but not complete.

Good morning, Mateys! Arrrr!

I'm a bit out of the loop due to an event I'm coordinating, which will take place tomorrow. Once that's over. I'll be on board more - if you get my drift. Ar.
