LOL
Don't freak Lee...nobody is coming to arrest you.
Just submit the proof, and don't worry.
If the date on it is correct, and as long as any editing done is legal, there is nothing to worry about.
Hell, submit it five times if they ask for it.
A legal proof is a legal entry...no worries. |

Lee,
The reason for the rerequest is in the email you received. The file you submitted was not an unaltered original. What we need is the file that you copied off your camera card, before loading into any software.

if you have modified anything in the EXIF (ie added keywords, renamed, copyright, etc.) be sure to send the OUT OF CAMERA shot and not modified. Also be sure to keep that unmodified one for a week after the challenge. I learned my lesson. Not that I placed or anything, but it would have helped my average some (5.9). Lessons continued to be learned, even in the advanced editing.

Hopefully the renaming in ACDSee doesn't mess things up, but I will have a long time to wait until anyone DQ's one of mine! LOL. I am curious; are you allowed to post the DQ'd photo in your portfoio if it is removed from the challenge? Is it still listed in your profile? I see photos disappear sometimes for good.

You are allowed to post your photo in your portfolio if it is DQ'ed, but you will have to re-upload it to do so. If re-uploaded, it will appear as a portfolio item, not as a challenge entry.
If you would like, I would be happy to check one of your renamed images to verify that ACDSee does not change the EXIF information when renaming. If you are interested, please PM me and I will give you my email address off-board.

You can post any photo you want (subject to site TOS guidelines) in your 10mb of portfolio space.
You never know when someone will request verification of one of your photos, and it's a shame when a perfectly valid photo must be DQ'd only because the photographer can't provide the original file ... the safest thing is to burn all original frames to CD and then you never have to worry about having it, but at least keep the original of any photo you plan to enter here.
After copying from the camera card to the hard drive you can also make it read-only, which will force you to save a copy as soon as you make any changes. |
