Hoodoos

Note:
The hoodoo pictured in the Wikipedia reference called the "Toadstool" from the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is the same one as in both B&W images posted.

All were photographed in southern Utah within the Grand Staircase

Additional Note:
In Wikipedia it erroneously states that hoodoos range in size from about human sized to bigger than a 10 story building. I can assure you that hoodoos can be much, much smaller than human sized... like this one I found:

World's Smallest Hoodoo?

Or World's Largest Quarter? ;)

Great images by the way. Sorry - forgot to express that in my earlier post. And the B/W ones are my particular favorites. If they were hosted on DPC they would be favorites.

Not less 'dumb'...more enriched for the new knowledge you now possess. You are most welcome.

Hey Steve,
Nice images... I really like the contrast of the red rock, white snow and deep blue skies. Good stuff.

Then you've never been to the Badlands in southern Alberta or southeastern B.C. ;0)
