Lately say Since two-three days I have been noticing that my digital camera is acting strange. I use flash to fire my strobes. I use flash in mode where it has to fire every time, Well for past 2-3 days flash doesn̢۪t go despite using compulsory mode.
Well I think it is time to replace or get it repaired, repairing is out of question (it won̢۪t be worth it) , may be I am wrong.
Considering I have to replace it, my maximum budget is 330 $, my needs would be camera that that can accept external flash, have manual control, can accept external Neutral Density filters, I always shoot with strobes, so you get the idea. If possible accept compact flash 1( I won̢۪t have money to buy additional memory). Mega pixel. well current one is 1.92 so anything above it would be great. Should have Macro Mode.
So What can I buy in this budget.

You could probably upgrade to the Canon A80. I've seen some pretty good images from it, it's within your price range, and very similar to the A40 but with even more manual commands.

You might be able to find a used G3, however it might be pushing your budget.

The Powershot S1 IS would do all you ask and more, but it's $100 over your budget. Try looking for a Canon Powershot G2 or G3 on eBay. |
