Looking back on, it, I wish I really would have submitted this shot for the Rusted Challenge. It is seriously one of my favorites to date by far. What do you guys think?

I like this one better but can't help that the scores may be about the same because of the topic of that challenge. Without the topic it definitely is a great shot. |

Both are good shots. I strongly prefer the second, as the first is very busy, but most of the frame is out of focus due to the short DOF. Your eye wants to see where the chain goes and what the other chains are doing, but because they are not in focus, I find it distracting. Lighting, colors, sharpness are all good. Photo 2 is superb. Nice detail, well balanced lighting, interestng subject matter. Keep up the great work!

Nice work! I like the second better, too. Your dof nicely points to the gear blade as the main focus of the shot. The other image's dof is okay, but doesn't say much to me.
