a friend of mine has gotten to looking a little unkempt and he told me he was going to get a haircut. i asked him if he'd mind me tagging along. when he asked why, i showed him this. now, we're both looking forward to his next cut...

Worked fine for me, no login, no download.

That looks like a pretty cool way of getting a haircut!

that's too bad; it's just a simple flash video, nothing malicious...

eta, i've checked it out on a couple other pc's without any problems, have no clue why it's not showing up for you...also, none of the other machines have been prompted for any kind of login and/or download.

Great photos, great idea. Boy do I hate the music. ;-)

When your installed Flash player is too prehistoric to support output in more current formats, you get some sort of link or prompt to downoad and install the latest version.

that makes perfect sense.

which explains why jeb would object so vehemently ;-)

@louis & CO: it WAS a lot of fun. and i can't believe anyone doesn't like AAR loud ;-)

Worked for me! But the music was too loud. Damn hippies. :P

Cool place to get a haircut!

Wow....

Nice...I must be some kind of dinosaur with a bad attitude 'cause I can't play your vid.

Cool.

Imagine my interest now.

I'm having the same problem too (i.e. requiring me to update my flash). Sucks. How hard is it to make a plugin that works and is backwards compatiable?

no clue. i built the video using ProShow Gold. it's just a simple .flv file. i've been digging through the documentation, but can't find anything out of order. it really would be nice if this stuff was plug-and-play :(

I updated my flash player and still no go.

Worked fine for me Skip, and I loved it, including the music! Good stuff.

That was fun Skip...looks like you had a great time putting it together!

BTW - I liked the music too. :-)

this sucks. it's like heading out on a road trip in two cars, but the two cars get separated and you're not sure where the other car is and whether or not you'll both wind up at the same place...and nobody has a gps or cell phone :(

about that music...i did this whole thing (the shoot and video) two years ago; the music (Dirty Little Secrets by the All-American Rejects) was suggested by my buddy tom who has been digging tunes for five decades. last summer, they were my 13-year-old's favorite band. i'm so out of touch, i didn't even remember who they were when i shot them performing last fall. thanks to my daughter, AAR is now a house staple.

Skip, FWIW I accessed this last night on a PC running Windows 7 and the browser is Firefox 3.6.2.

Same this morning on a PC running Windows Vista and Firefox 3.6.2 browser.

Both have Flash version 10.

Worked just fine for me. Love that shop. All that vinyl is awesome.

this is borderline idiotic. i just tried (yeah, i didn't test this beforehand) viewing the page with IE, and i all i saw was "Get the Flash Player to see this content." even after downloading and installing the latest flash player, i still get nothing. bleeping IE :(. i'll keep looking for a way to make it work under IE...

and to all you FF people, glad you liked it!

Did as the site/link said, dowloaded the current Flash......same thing, no go. And this is on a completely different machine than I tried last night.

And FWIW, I always download the latest Adobe updates when prompted, not that I feel like I have to justify that.

One thing you may want to consider in the future is that when someone states they're having a problem is that it might be a valid concern rather than just assume that they're incompetent or rude.

ok, i think i have this working under IE.

it's all in the tone, jeb. i don't discount problems or suggestions, especially when someone's trying to be helpful ;-)

Yes, it works fine in IE now.

I'm guessing there are people who would think that place is kind of unusual, but there are some of us out here who still have a lot of those items in their home.

From the first time they were made......doesn't everyone still have a lava light and LPs????

Nicely done.
