Hey guys I would really appreciate your help and opinions on this.
I am looking at trying to break into sports photography (mostly baseball with some soccer). I will be focusing on little league stuff. So I am looking at the Canon 70-200mm L lens. My question comes up as to wether I should go with the f2.8 non IS lens or the f4 IS. Since I will be focusing on sports and stopped action and as such will be using higher shutter speeds, is IS really an important feature? I am thinking I would be better served with the extra stops with the 2.8 lens for when I am shooting evening and night games.
Sorry but unfortunately the 2.8L IS is not an option at this time. |

| I would definitely go with the 2.8. You get a much better ability to separate your players from the background with the wide aperture. |

| i shoot with the 70-200L f/4, but if i had the money, would go with the 2.8. that extra stop would help a lot some days |

IS isn't going to help in sports where things are moving fast.
Get the 2.8, shoot at 2.8, and be happy. |
