Hi All. This is a dumb sounding question to all you D40 users out there. I have a customer who has a piece of medical equipment I sold her connected to her D40. She claims there is no way to manually turn off the flash on the D40. Is this correct or is she missing something. Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Qiki |

Yes and no. If you're using the scene modes, it will automatically come up unless you select the "flash off" scene setting, which is the little flash lightning bolt with a line through it. The flash will also not fire in the landscape and sports modes. In M A S P modes, it will only function when you put it up.
Pg 18 & 34 (30/139 and 46/139 in adobe acrobat) of the manual

Thanks Spiritual'. So in manual mode, if you don't pop it up (by pressing the flash button on the side?) it won't flash?

Yeah, in any of the M A S P modes it won't fire unless you manually hit the button to let it pop up. |
