In all of my travells I have never actually circum-navigated the earth. I am en-route to Korea and some reservations got cancelled. (I have no idea how) Anyway I was stuck at the airport in chicago. If my reservation had not been cancelled I was going to fly non-stop from chicago to seol, south korea. Instead, they rebooked me on an air France flight landing in Paris and then to seoul. My returning flight is still scheduled to be seaul to chicago..... I am getting plenty of frequent flier miles on this one.

That's a lot of time sitting in an airliner seat! |

alot of time in a smelly airliner seat. The seats on those over seas flights always smell like a gym locker.

Given a choice, I would opt for the gym locker smell over that of some of the perfume scents one has to put up with. I swear there are times that people walking by me in the aisle leave a vapour trail.

Melethia I am still in the reserves and this is my annual training. I did get to go to the DMZ (de-militarized zone) this weekend. It is a stark reminder about how close we are to going to war with North Korea. And yes that is a very long flight.....Flying to Korea the smell that is over powering is the smell of Kemchi (that might be spelled wrong). For those that don't knoe what kemchi is.....They take cabbage and spices garlic and some other stuff, put it in a sealed container, and then bury it for 3 months. The smell comes out of the pores and unless you are used to it...it is bad.

Wow - that's some serious annual training! I need to look into the reserves, but all my uniform stuff is with my household goods which is in storage somewhere... (I, too, and jobless at the moment.) |

Well it seems they have screwed up the same reservations on the return trip that they did on the arrival trip. Originally I was to fly from Seoul to Chicago....Now I am flying Seoul to tokyo to Atlanta....Not a big deal though it is only delaying my arriva time by about 4 hours. No big deal. All I have to say is more frequent flyer miles...
