I am concidering buying a polorizing Filter for myFuji Finepix S5000Z Digital Camera. However the salesman in local Camera shop said they don't work too well with Digital Camera's.
What do you think? Have you had problems? if so what type of problems have you had?

The AF system of your camera will not work well with a linear polalizing filter. But a circular polarizer should.
I use one and have had no problems. I was usure how well it would work so I bought a used one (trded in at the camera shop). I wish I had bought it much sooner.

i've never had any problems with the circular polarizer on my camera. it works great and gives nice colors in bright sunlight. i took these last weekend.

I used the polorizing filter for this





I also recomend a UV Haze filter. Check out the difference.
the one on the right is w/out. It is always hazy this time of year in PA

Linear polarizers will interfere with AF systems, but circular polarizers do not.

do you take every shot with both filters on?

The 1st with just the polorizing
the 2nd with just the UV
3rd no filters

yeah, but as a habit, do you leave them on? how often do you use each? I keep my UV on all the time, but I am getting my first polarizer, and was wondering if that is basically the same.

I leave the UV on all the time, most to protect the lens. I don't keep the polorizer on. The polorizer rotates, and I'm affraid that I might miss a snap shot while trying to rotate to the best angle.
