I have an st-e2 infrared transmitter on my 7d and two 580 exII set as slaves, one in group A and one in group B
They were working perfectly for a while then they started firing at different times, one flash fired about one second after the first!
I replaced the batteries in both flashes, swapped the position of the flashes, both were around 1m away with perfect line of sight to the st-e2 but still didn't work correctly.
I went back and had another look a little while later and they started working perfectly again!!!
So I don't think it was a fault, I can only assume I've set something strange ... anyone got any ideas?? I've checked the manual and nothing obvious jumped out... |

| Sounds like one flash has been set at rear sync but can you even do that when using remotely?? |
