Grrr....it bugs me when you bid on an item on eBay and then later get a notice that the item was cancelled. Turns out the seller cancelled it, then relisted the item as a "Buy it Now" even though there were active bids on it. Appears that he sold it to the current high bidder from the original listing (foolishly I might add as the item was worth substantially more than he sold it for).
Ok. I've "vented". Thanks! |

Could be he knew the person who bought it and switched to Buy it Now to let that person get the deal. |

Could be. I guess anything's possible, but it still bugs me. |

could also be that the seller needed the money imediately vs waiting for the auction to end and contacted the highest bidder and asked them if they wanted to buy it now for the amount they bid to get the cash in hand right away. With todays economy alot of people need cash yesterday so it wouldn't surprise me if this sort of thing happens more often now. |

Depends on a couple of qualifiers, but in this case the seller met eBay's terms and policies, although instead of re-listing and doing a "Buy it Now" to the current high bidder he could have just ended it and sold it.
This seller has experience on eBay with over 500 feedbacks and 98% are positive.
I'm over it now, but dang I was ticked off when I first read the cancellation notice last night. :-) |
