I heard about this on the radio tonight. This is the most bizarre thing I've heard in a long time. What do you think?

As noted in the article ...
"... it likely has to do with the higher-register notes in the distinctive theme song.
'Cats and dogs generally don't like hearing high-pitched sounds,' she (veterinary neurologist Susan Wagner) said, adding that dogs often howl to sirens and other higher-toned sounds."
If you want to get your dog to "sing," just try playing a harmonica ...

My old dog used to howl along with all kinds of sirens (police car, ambulance, firetruck, air raid) -- and to me when I sang!

My old black lab would go bonkers whenever rodeo came on the television. He would start jumping around in circles just like the bulls. It was quite a sight. :D |
