Some of you may remember the floods that my area endured two years ago.
For the last few weeks it has rained non stop. The dam is 2.5 times the size of Sydney Harbour and the catchment area the size of Tasmania. A week ago it was sitting at 86%. This weekend she is now 100% and spilling over for the first time in 2 years, since the floods.

I shot my blue ribbon wedding image on 5 February 2010. Yesterday (21 February 2010) I shot the same location and as you can see it is about 6 or 7 foot under. The top of the tree is barely visible. They predict minor flooding for the area but certainly not to the extent of the previous floods. But...people are on edge understandably.

I bet that's a welcome relief. We're down to 42% here in WA, but looking good compared to the past 7 years. |
