so i am currently pp'ing my entry for shoes and i was wondering if it is legal to change the color tint of the photo. is this considered adding a "feature" or radical alteration of the photo? i am using ps elements 8 and i used 'enhance colors' and tweaked the 'tint'. |

Sounds legal to me in basic and advanced. As long as you apply it to the whole image uniformly. Adding features typically refers to graphics -- giving your mother-in-law a beard, for instance...

Color shifts are allowed as long as they don't create a new feature, such as creating a rainbow in an otherwise blue sky. If you just want to change your red suede shoes to blue it should be OK.

RE: help!
Ya know sometimes I see a thread title like that halfway down the front page and I imagine opening it up and reading about how the poster is hiding in the bathroom of their house with their laptop and someone has broken into their house and is in the process of robbing it and they can't call the police cuz the phone is in the kitchen and they are too afraid to come out of the bathroom, so they are posting a distress call on DPC.
I'm glad this was just an editing rules question. ;-) |
