That was more in response to Jeb's suggestions than to the OP's actual course of action. |

This was my last suggestion, outside of course, that people consider the OP's course of action before, during, and after the initial shoot, instead of just acting like he was somehow being less than ethical and decent initially......Three months ago!
Perhaps, she scould write a formal recommendation/testimonial as something that he could put into his portfolio as a reference as to what a fine photographer he is as well as a stellar businessman, along with one tasteful headshot for the photographic reference.

Sorry I've been on a plane travelling for a while and just now catching up to this thread. lets see if I can answer some questions.
How old is this woman?? She is 24yrs.
It was a TFCD shoot where she would receive a certain number of photos in exchange for me being able to use them as well. If any photos are sold as stock she would receive a certain percentage of the sales.
She was compensated with her photos (that she went through the edited copies and chose her set). She received these photos a couple of months ago. It wasn't until the day before I started this thread that I started putting the photos up in my portfolio that she decided to change her mind. Meaning she got her digital copies and she was okay with it...when I started putting them up in my portfolio she was no longer okay with it.
Also for the record, I had only posted 9 photos up in my portfolios...5 of those 9 photos she had chosen as the photos she wanted. I'm starting to think the problem came when I posted some of the photos in my portfolio in facebook.
I don't really understand what a testimonial would do....I could write a testimonial myself and say that someone made up model said it. I don't believe in testimonials. Not to mention all it does is open up other models to hear that they can me remove their photos after they receive their compensation also.
Digital copies, you can't get those back.
How much does one shoot raise your electric bill? Well if you have electric heat and propane heat...and you have to have them running at 70 degrees all day to keep the house warm for her in the middle of the winter cold front and they are normally at 45-50degrees. Plus you throw in 2800W of lighting....You are looking at quite a jump in bills....Even then, I consider the bills minimal compared to the time and effort. |

Oh as for the sleezeball middle aged man part....
I'm 27....well 28 next week (is that middle aged?) You can ask ANY of the models that I worked with that I'm completely upfront about everything before, during, and after the shoot. Even if a model tells me she is comfortable with something and I notice she's not, we change up the scene. I know that if a model isn't comfortable you won't get good shots.
I cover all ranges of shooting from fashion through glamour through alternative through nude. If you look during the spring and summer months when i can get outside, I do more fashion work...during the winter months when I'm stuck inside I do more glamour work....it also depends on what the models want to add to their portfolio. So I don't stick to one style. Which is why I'm so open about what we are going to shoot before and during the shoot.
Again my basic premise here is that she received her compensation. The deal was executed....and now that I try to use the photos as part of our deal, she wants to change her mind.
The implied photo I will not post, but will reserve the right to use it in my portfolio if someone wants to see other shots of that sort not posted online. Basically let her know that I will not delete the photo and will not post it as a courtesy, but I still reserve the right to use it if I so need to. (I'm still working on the wording to this). |

Thanks for the update Anthony. Her being 24 does make a difference of course. If it were me i would still respect her wishes though but i realise that i am not in business here. I would also respect those wishes if it was a 40yr old man and the shot was of him gardening or something. The key for me is they are worried so much about the images being online and out of their control not really about the age or sex of them but them but, here, that has obviously influenced my replies. But, like i said, i'm not a businessman. And if i were i'd be a bloody rubbish one! |

Don't take it personal. I think i explained my comments better up thread but i was certainly going off the board a bit and mapping your situation onto a wider theoretical situation. Please accept my apologies for that. I woke up grumpy and wanted to pick a fight with Jeb whilst he was in his ruthless, corporate Michael Geko persona. ;) |

Haha! Save your carbon footprint and slap me by email Gecko. You won't find me in the UK as i live in an anarcho-marxist commune in the hills of Wales stealing the interwebs bandwidth from the nearby windfarm. :) |

Take down the pictures and don't work with her again because I can almost promise you she will come back and want you to do more pictures at some point in the future. |

I read the first post in this thread and immediately thought 'selfish cow' - changing her mind like that.
I was genuinely surprised to see the amount of people who said the OP should just aquiese to her wishes.
Read the whole thread and still think she is selfish.
Maybe my morals are a little skewed but a) I don't beleive in regret, once it's done it's done and b) I definately don't beleive in paying for someone elses regret.
Maybe my world is a little TOO black and white :-)
