I'm not sure that this is in the correct forum so if not could an SC member please move it to where it belongs..

I am planning some research into body topology and so will be collecting photographs of subjects for data. If I was to publish the research at some point in the future would I need to have collected model releases from the participants before I was allowed to use those photos as a part of the published research?

The photos are 4 basic poses taken fully clothed and are processed to a very basic silhouette image like this.
