Why? You didn't start the original posthumous ribbons thread. By requesting this you're implying that you're the only one worthy of giving posthumous ribbons. |

You know... I tried and tried not to say anything but I have to now... This is complete BS that he is suspended... This is the thread I follow religiously and without him I really don't think anyone could step up and replace him. Way to go SC, way to make the drop-out rate go even faster than it already has been.
You will be missed posthumous!!!!!

I find that André ( undieyatch) has a very keen sense of art in photography and his 'Award' is one worth seeking.

Trust me I follow that thread too. But when I think of side awards I think of this one. That being said I do not think that anyone else could "restart" this type of thread while he is gone.

mbrut, I have several PS awards and love them dearly, you can see them splashed all over my page. But a thing you have to remember too is that PS didn't actually start the PS awards, someone else did, and they left so he took over. Circle of life, another person will step up sometime and do the PS awards, just as he stepped up once and took over from someone else that was well loved and admired here.
There is no reason that he has to actually vote on challenges, his thoughts and awards are much appreciated all over this site and he can still do that if he wants too. Voting is just a tiny matter in the whole scheme of things.
So stay PS and carry on. |

He didn't start it? Hmmm... I guess that is the newbie in me that I didn't know that. Well in any case I came in during the era of him giving the awards so I guess you might be able to see how I see it?

This is NOT your thread. DeSousa started the original posthumous ribbons post. You do realize that posthumous has another meaning than just your user name, right? Or are you that arrogant? |

From the original Posthumous Ribbons Post:

I think it's important to give some visibility to other works not aligned with the mainstream taste, and give support to photographers with different views and approaches to photography.
So, after each challenge, you are encouraged to post here your personal winners, photos that did not won a DPC ribbon and are not align with the masses taste, but won your heart instead.
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. Let̢۪s show some.
A warm comment in a photograph can do a lot.
Jorge.
PS: Please notify the owner of every photograph posted here, and let him or her know about your support.

Don did start giving his own ribbons - the Posthumous Awards. Jorge ( De Sousa) started the thread to encourage others to recognize lesser-ranked photographs as well. Hence, the title was based on what Posthumous started.

OMG, I looked up the word posthumous! Wow, I can't believe I've been misled all this time... all these living people I was giving ribbons, too... I feel yucky now... like a reverse necrophiliac or something...
this thread has been granted a reprieve... but post ribbons at your own risk. |
