Does anyone know if the Canon STE2 Speedlite Transmitter if compatible with the 5D MK2? I am planning on upgrading to this later this year, and trying to make sure any purchases i make currently will be able to be used with it as well.
Thanks! |

It is, I use it on mine quite often.
Although, I am thinking of switching to pocket wizards. The STE2 uses infrared, pocket wizards use radio signals. You get more range and more angle options with radio. |

Awesome David. Thanks for the answer and the heads up on the pocket wizards. Looking for a low budget way of getting my speedlights off the camera, will check out the wizars also.

| Keep in mind the ST-E2 uses ETTL metering. Most pocketwizards do not. If you need professional range and reliability, I'd say go Pocketwizards. If not, the ST-E2 is great for indoor stuff and outdoors with a range of 25-30 feet. I love my ST-E2. |

I think the newer Pocket Wizards do ETTL, could be wrong though. |

Yes, the newest Pocket Wizards do have ETTL. You're looking at some pretty serious $$ if you get those, however. |
