Looking over the news items on DPReview, I spotted this tidbit in the announcement for the Pentax Optio i10:

"...and can recognise the faces of cats and dogs."

LOL, it was only a matter of time!

ETA: I initially misread it as "...feces of cats and dogs" ;-)
... and in all seriousness, I do love the retro styling.

Well, you wouldn't want to step in it, so it's good to be forewarned. ;-)

Hopefully it can recognize the face of black cats and dogs or there's gonna be trouble...

but the question is, will it take the pic only when they are SMILING?

Creative digital filters to process recorded images

The Optio I-10 comes equipped with 11 digital filters to add various visual effects to recorded images without the need for a computer. In addition to the conventional Monochrome and Sepia filters and the creative Toy Camera and Soft filters, the Optio I-10 now offers the new Starburst filter, which creates cross-, heart- or star-shaped highlights from nighttime illuminations or reflections on the water. The user can even apply multiple filters to a single image.

Winging right along towards the time when there's no longer a valid distinction between in-camera and post processing...
