Hello all,
I was wondering if somebody would be so kind and explain to me how I can straighten images that appear to be tilted using the Gimp software? I have an image of a couple of houses where the roofs appear to slope and would like to alter it.

Many Thanks

there is a rotate button on the main GIMP window the one after the crop knife (hover your mouse over the buttons and a discription comes up)
click the button then click the photo and a dot will come up in the center and a new dialog box opens
click and drag on the photo and a grid will show the rotation
use the grid to line up with the horison or what ever you want straightened
here is the strange bit, the photo seems to rotate the wrong way so in the dialog box where the angle is showen just change the plus to a minus or the minus to a plus to get the photo rotated the correct way
then click the rotate button in the dialog box.... all done
