OK...How's this. I vote for Chicago. It's pretty central with MANY photo ops (spelled tall buildings). I also vote for the second weekend in July (9, 10,11). Who's gonna keep track of votes?

I have the reponse page updated at //www.soasoas.com/dpc/
So far, everyone who has responded with dates (6 people) can make the July 4th holiday weekend.
What is the critical mass of people we need to lock down a date?
ummm.... I suggest that it is 6 people. :)
for those of you interested who have not yet responded, post your dates now!

BTW, thanks David (dsa157) for making the chart, I think that it is a big help, especially when trying to coordinate so many schedules! But, unfortunately, July 9th will not work for me, because it is too close to my vacation (the weekend before it). That is all right, don't plan around me... If you end up with a different date, I will try to make it though!

We just came back from a visit to Chicago this past weekend for the Rush 30th Anniversary Tour Concert. We stayed in one of the suburbs (Schaumburg) at a place called Drury Inn. It was clean, had a nice pool, served free breakfast every morning and was only $52 a night.

As far as Michigan, South Haven would net you some nice sunsets, might be a tad busy this time of year.
I live in the U.P. We do have quite the scenery for folks interested in that sort of thing. Just watch out for the mosquitos. They might fly off with your camera. HaHa!

Darlin' I didn't even sign up here until after we got back. ;) If it makes you feel better I'll wave next time we are in the area.
You should be able to nab some lovely shots up in those areas. There's definitely some beautiful country here.
So, what brings you all way up here? No ones comes to the U.P.
Psst - Bring a BIG can of OFF if you'll be out in the woods. The ticks are out in full force and the skeeters are awful, too. |
